What can you expect to learn in Sandy's Classes?
New computer skills in high demand in the workplace! Students who want to learn new skills or just improve the skills they already have developed, have several classes to choose from:
Computer Applications in Business A/B:
This course is based on CTE Foundation Standards for the following Industry Sectors: Finance and Business, Marketing and Sales, and Information Technology.
Students will:
- Develop digital literacy skills to communicate and work efficiently and to effectively find, use, summarize, evaluate, create, and communicate information using digital technologies;
- Learn how computers are used to collect, store, distribute and communicate information within a business context;
- Learn how to use current industry-standard office software (Office 2010) to complete high school/college coursework and create professional workplace documents in an efficient manner
- Learn the fundamentals of file management
Web Development I/II:
This course was based on CTE Foundation Standards for the following Industry Sectors: Finance and Business, Marketing and Sales, and Information Technology.
Students will:
- Learn how to create and maintain Web sites/Web pages using basic coding, authoring applications (Adobe Dreamweaver CS3);
- Learn how to create Web graphics using the Adobe Creative Suite CS3 (emphasis on Adobe Photoshop CS3);
- Web Development II builds on the concepts learned in Web Development I and is designed for students who would like to further develop their Web development skills. In addition to learning how to create and maintain Web sites/Web pages, students will also learn and apply written composition, editing, research, and interpersonal skills as they specifically relate to the field of Web Development.
