Admission
Classes are open to
adults. Day high school students
may enroll after obtaining special permission from their school counselor if
class space is available.
Adults have priority over high school students
in all classes.
Attendance
Attendance in all
classes is the responsibility of the student.
High school students taking classes for credit and a diploma must attend
classes regularly or they will be dropped from the course.
Classes missed for any reason are counted as absences.
Counseling
Services
Experienced
counselors are available to assist students.
Students wishing to earn an adult education diploma must have a
counseling appointment to ensure placement in the proper classes.
Minimum Class Size
All Community
Education classes have a minimum and maximum class size as indicated.
In the event that a course does not have the minimum enrollment the class
will either be cancelled or the number of course hours will be reduced.
Refunds and
Transfers
The State of
Registration Information
Adult Education
classes require
pre-registration.
For your convenience we have
listed registration-closing dates at
the end of each class description.
Exception to this policy is English as a Second Language where
registration occurs on designated dates.
Students wishing to
enroll in High School Diploma or General
Education
Development test preparation classes
should call the Golden Oak office for a counseling appointment.
Counseling appointments will be scheduled between 6:30P and 9:00P,
Monday-Thursday.

The

Citizen Discount
All class tuition
costs will be reduced 10% when you show proof of being at least 60 years of age.
Materials, fees, books and other fees are not discounted.

The William S. Hart
Union High School District Policy prohibits smoking on all district campuses and
in district vehicles. Students and
employees are not allowed to smoke on school grounds, parking lots, or in parked

system performance with various utilities and much more. Knowledge of the
keyboard & mouse is very helpful when learning new computer skills. Windows XP
is used in class. Vista-specific handouts available for those who have that
operating system. Textbook information (optional) will be given at the first

This is the perfect class for new owners, soon-to-be owners, or someone
who just wants to become familiar with the computer. Overcome your “fear of
computing” with patient instruction, and hands-on practice. This beginner course
will introduce students to the very basic concepts and components of a computer.
Students will learn to distinguish between computer hardware and software, how
to use a mouse and to access programs within Windows. Book information will be
given out the first meeting.

items, how to write descriptions for items you wish to list for sale, the
importance of taking photos of your item and where to store them on your hard
disk for easy access, and will explore the various fees involved. Then we'll go
into listing an actual item, going through the five steps in listing. The second
part of the class will be spent on PayPal and how easy it is to transfer money
electronically. Then we'll go into Buying on eBay, how to place a bid, starting
with a low bid, learning about Reserve Price and Buy it Now bidding, and what to
do after you have won your item. This is

Your hard drive will last longer if you take care of it. A hard disk is like a
closet, you need the biggest you can afford but it can quickly become a tangled
mess. Before you know it, you need to do some cleaning up and clearing out. In
this class, you will learn how to use the Operating System to delete files and
programs that you no longer need, clean up ‘temp’ files, as well as scandisk &
defrag your hard drive. Several comprehensive utilities to accomplish these
tasks will also be demonstrated. You will also learn how to organize your hard
drive after it has been cleaned. This is
