  2. California High School Exit Exam Information. Click for the flyer.
  3. We had 12 new surveillance cameras installed throughout campus.  These cameras are used as a deterrent and have already resulted in the identification of vandalism culprits over the summer.
  4. Our theater will be completed by November 1st.  The $3 million project will be dedicated later in the month.  Our plays, concerts and other events will now be held at GV!
  5. Nominating GV Staff Members of the Month is now available to our community.  Staff can be nominated by parents and students, as well as, the GV community.  Information and forms are available on our website.
  6. We are starting a homework completion program called the “Just Do It” Center.  Being the only Nike High School in Santa Clarita, what a better use of this slogan.  Students will be kept in during their lunch times for 25 minutes or until assignments are completed starting on Tuesday and running through Friday each week.  Should a student not complete the assignment by Friday, the student would then stay after school for an hour.  If an assignment is still missing, Saturday School will be assigned and utilized as the last opportunity for the student to complete the assignment.  The only way to stay out of the “Just Do It” Center is to Just Finish Assignments on Time!  Excused, warranted and school activities will naturally be taken into consideration.

Golden Valley Runners Shine at League Finals, click for story

It was a great day for the runners yesterday who pretty much all ran their fastest times of the year. As the team battles go, no GV boys team finished overall in the league standings lower than 2nd-Boys Varsity, 2nd-Boys JV, 2nd-Boys Frosh/Soph. On the girls side, our Girls Varsity finished ahead of Hart overall, and the Girls JV team finished 3rd overall.

It was a special day, though, as our boys varsity team won the meet, beating Saugus (the first time in 3 years that they have been beating on the league level)!! Led by League Champ--Seth Totten, who won by over 30 seconds. (We finished 2nd overall because in the league meets you are given points for how many teams you beat, we were 3rd in LM 2, and lost 18-17 to Saugus overall)
Here are the all league finishers from GV: (1-7 first team, 8-14 2nd team)
Boys Varsity Boys JV Boys Frosh Soph Girls Varsity
Seth Totten (1st) SR Elie Boutros (4th) Aaron Nguyen (4th) Chelsey Totten (12th)
Kristian Martinez (4th) SO JOsh White (9th) Carlos Lopez (7th)
