We agree that the students in Castaic should have a school close to home as soon as possible, using a thorough, accurate and complete analysis of the suitability of sites we have identified. On the other hand, Castaic students have always been a part of the Hart District and have always attended various Hart District schools. Opening of West Ranch relieved overcrowding at both Hart and Valencia high schools, just as opening of a high school in Castaic will relieve overcrowding at West Ranch and Valencia. The Hart District is moving as rapidly as possible to build a school in Castaic. Barring unforeseen difficulties, we hope to open a high school in Castaic with ninth graders only in 2013, adding one grade a year until it is a full four-year high school.

This cant some soon enough, the other high schools are over crowded with chidren that could go to school closer to home in Castaic. I know that WestRanch in particular could use the break by not having all those extra kids bused in. Please get this through soon!
