The projected opening ofCastaic area high school is August 2015, to ninth graders only, then adding agrade each year until grades 9-12 are on campus. Local voters overwhelminglysupported Measure SA, a $300 million bond measure in 2008, which in part willpay for acquisition and construction of the school site.
“We are committed tobuilding a high-quality, comprehensive high school in Castaic to serve thecommunity,” Rob Challinor, Superintendent said. “Population projections andhome building plans for the Castaic and Val Verde areas show a need for a highschool in the area in the future and building it now in anticipation of thisgrowth is financially prudent, good for the area economy and will well servefamilies in the short term, as well.”
