The Hart School District Governing Board has announced the issuance of $167 million in Series C general obligation bonds, as part of the $300 Measure SA Bond approved by local voters in 2008.

More than 150 students from five Hart District comprehensive high schools will be participating in the Annual Theatre Festival, this Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2. The festival is scheduled for College of the Canyons in the Performing Arts Center on Friday and the Golden Valley High School Theater on Saturday, from 9 am - 3:30 pm. The community is welcome to attend anytime on Saturday at Golden Valley High School. Admission is $5.

Junior High and High School students from throughout the Hart School District will perform as the District Honor Band, at 7:30 pm, Sat. March 2 at the Hart High School Auditorium. About 175 students have been selected to participate in this concert, from a field of 800 students that auditioned. The community is invited to attend and the tickets are $12 at the door.

All students at Hart School District schools are encouraged to enter the Barnes & Noble "My Favorite Teacher" contest by writing essays, poems or thank you letters that share how their teacher has influenced their life and why they appreciate and admire their teacher. The winning teacher will win $5,000 and the school will also receive $5,000! The deadline for entries is March 1, 2013.
