The Hart School District governing board announced the appointment of Dr. Michael Vierra to the position of Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources, following the retirement of Rob Gapper later this month. Gapper worked for the Hart School District for more than 33 years. The appointment was approved at the regular board meeting held last night, effective January 7, 2013.

The Hart School District Regional Occupational Program (ROP) Career Internship class is now taking applications for the Spring semester class. Students do an unpaid internship and will earn up to five credits for the semester.

The Hart School District has announced that Tom Cole, Chief Operations Officer, has accepted the position of Community Development Director for the City of Santa Clarita. Cole has worked for the Hart District since August 2010 and has been responsible for successfully overseeing modernization projects throughout the district and has been instrumental in general operations of all school sites and district property during his tenure.
