To our new 7th grade students: In August you begin a new adventure of learning and achievement at La Mesa Junior High School. All La Mesa students participate in the Accelerated Reader program. Students who read do better academically!
To 7th and 8th Grade Students: To maintain reading skills and to meet state standards, we are requiring new 7th grade students and returning 8th grade students to read two books, each at least 100 pages, from our Accelerated Reading List. You can find this list on the La Mesa Website:http://www.hartdistrict.org/lamesa/library/reader.asp or at the following Los Angeles County Public Libraries:
Students will take quizzes for each book when they return in August. The quizzes are based on the full version of the book and not any abridged versions. To help you with the quiz, we strongly recommend that students keep a reading log with notes on all the important information: title, author, setting, plot, characters, climax, and events. |
