District Schools Exceed Goals For State, National Accountability - July 2007 A strong intervention program, alignment of classroom instruction to California's standards and high expectations for every group of students have paid off in the William S. Hart Union High School District, according to accountability reports released in January by the California Department of Education. The scores are based on achievement tests taken by students in spring 2006. The district met and exceeded every goal established by the federal government for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and the state's Academic Performance index (API), with some schools increasing their API scores by more than 100 points.
