The school year is well underway and we have some exciting extracurricular challenges coming up for GATE students! In order to help junior high students prepare to take the SAT, the GATE program will be offering SAT prep courses. The classes will start in early November and are a great opportunity for students to learn about the test and sharpen their critical thinking skills. Click on the link to see specific dates and times.
Additionally, this year’s Knowledge Master Open Competition, a computer-based academic competition, will be held on April 22nd, 2009. Two practice sessions will be held before the competition, and GATE students are encouraged to participate in this exciting competitive event! See Mrs. Fitzpatrick in Room 701 for more information or if you are interested in joining the Knowledge Master Open team.
Don’t forget your talent search deadlines! Sign up with Johns Hopkins and UC Irvine as soon as possible, and the College Board by November 5 to take the December 6 SAT. To take the January 24 test, sign up with the College Board by December 26, and then watch for an announcement about the SAT Prep classes.
