Placerita’s ASB director, Michele Tait, and her ASB students facilitated a week-long shoe drive for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.  Students and their families were asked to bring in gently-worn shoes and hundreds of pairs were collected.  Ms. Tait reflected on the efforts of the Placerita community and stated, "I am so proud of our ASB students for organizing this project.  We collected over 500 pairs of shoes in a short amount of time.  Thank you to all who participated.”  ASB learned of this program through an organization called Sole for Souls that works collaboratively with Sports Chalet.  The shoes will be sent to Haiti as soon as possible.
