History Department
7th grade World History covers major epochs, eras, events, cultures, religions and turning points that have shaped human societies.
Students study the social, cultural, and technological changes that occurred in Europe, Africa, and Asia between 500 and
1789 A.D. Students are engaged in activities relating to the Middle Ages, Age of Enlightenment, Scientific Revolution, Art, Geography
and Medieval cultures around the world. Seventh grade teachers plan and host an annual Falconry Assembly.

8th Grade U.S. History covers the colonization of the Americas, the Revolutionary War, the Constitution, Industrial Revolution,
westward expansion, the Civil War, Reconstruction and modern industrial movements to pre-WWI. One of our goals is to have
students connect the historic events, presidents, and politics of the past with the events in our world today. Eight grade highlights
the American Civil War which finally made the U.S. "one nation, indivisible" at both our Open House and again on Civil War Day toward
the end of the school year.
