Academics

Sequoia Charter School has one junior high school class and three high school classes. With only 4 teachers on campus, the school is limited to offering the core subjects including English, Algebra, History, Science, and PE. Each semester two or three electives are also offered to students. Elective courses include Foods, Music Appreciation, ASB, Yearbook, Journalism, Computer Applications, and Keyboarding. Sequoia students utilize the general education curriculum, learn the content presented as outlined in the California State Standards, and participate in benchmark testing. Sequoia students are on the diploma track and are expected to pass the CAHSEE along with the Algebra I requirement. If a student requires more advanced coursework, dual enrollment will be explored to meet the individual needs of the student.
