Saugus Boys Cross Country - State Champions

Our very own Saugus boys placed 1st this year in state, while our girls fought their way to an impressive second.

“It was just excitement, relief. I didn’t really know what to think exactly,” said Saugus junior Brian Zabilski of the win. “I’ve just never experienced something so great before. I’ve never had such a feeling of accomplishment before.”

The boys celebrated their first state championship ever not much more than an hour after the Saugus girls found out they finished second in Division II, falling a tad short of Simi Valley (102-97)

Headed into Saturday, Saugus carried a top number one ranking in state Division II and were coming off a CIF-Southern Section Division II title a week prior.
