Welcome to Santa Clarita Valley Early College High School

Welcome to Santa Clarita Valley Early College High School (Santa Clarita Valley ECHS) where opportunity is knocking.

As the first early college high school in the Santa Clarita Valley, our focus is to serve young people who are traditionally underrepresented in postsecondary education. To that effect, Santa Clarita Valley ECHS is a joint effort between College of the Canyons and the William S. Hart Union High School District. Every detail in planning this school has been a collaborative effort. Countless hours have been spent in developing an academic experience that will be as distinctive as the students we will serve. With the support of both organizations, Santa Clarita Valley ECHS is destined to become one of the most unique high schools in our valley.

The curriculum at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS offers students an accelerated academic program leading to the completion of a high school diploma along with up to two years of college coursework all while in high school. As we seamlessly integrate the high school and college curriculums, students at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS will have access to high school and college simultaneously. Students at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS experience the best of both worlds - support and guidance from the high school environment coupled with the all the services available to college students from College of the Canyons.

Our educational goals are aligned with the Bill & Melinda Gates initiative. The educational goals of this initiative are to minimize the barriers between high school and college; to ease the transition from secondary to postsecondary school; to prepare students for, and attract them to, higher education and to increase high school graduation rates.
