Our Mission Statement
Santa Clarita Valley Early College High School will prepare graduates to meet the expectations and challenges presented by future endeavors. In partnership with College of the Canyons, our families and the community, we will develop an educational experience based on rigor, relevance and relationships. Our students will be value based citizens who are responsible and self directed; critical thinkers and problem solvers; communicators, planners and decision makers; and team players who take action. Our belief in meaningfully contributing to our communities and embracing diversity demands that individuals conduct themselves with respect, fairness, and honor at all times.

Our values serve as our written commitment to action with every decision based on what is in the best interest of students.

Excellence at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS demands that all stakeholders share a commitment to developing a coherent and rigorous curriculum that challenges students of all interests and abilities. We will ensure the highest levels of excellence for all curricular programs and instructional practices at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS.

Equity at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS requires all stakeholders to actively commit to providing opportunities for students to fully access the curriculum at its most rigorous level. We will challenge each individual at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS to give his or her best effort while providing access and support for the needs of each individual.

Education at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS will be highly valued. We will serve as role models to students for on-going professional development and life long learning. We will continuously challenge ourselves in efforts to improve our practice. Our staff development practices will be a collaborative on-going process, not a singular event.

The environment at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS will require all stakeholders to actively work to provide an emotionally and physically safe, supportive and collaborative learning environment. We will develop a culture where risk taking and focused action aids in accomplishing goals and affecting change.

Engagement at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS extends beyond our classrooms. We will continuously look for ways of meaningfully connecting the curriculum in our classrooms to the lives of our students beyond our campus.

Enrichment at Santa Clarita Valley ECHS will require all stakeholders to value community service and involvement. We will pursue opportunities that allow students to develop into value-based citizens that act by taking leadership roles within their community.
