Attention Parents:  Our annual Turkey Trot is right around the corner.  If your student is interested in participating, please have them click HERE and sign-up for this fun event!  Each canned good they bring in will take 5 seconds off their time.

ASA Reminders - There will be no ASA the week of November 24th.  There will be no ASA on Tuesday, Nov 11th (no school due to Veteran's Day), but we will still have ASA on Nov 10 and 12. Team ASA will be on Nov 13 and 20 this month.

Library News: If you would like to see the winning designs of the posters from the annual 8th Grade Poster Contest, then stop by the Teen Room of the Canyon Country Public Library.This contest is co-sponsored by the SV Library and the English Department.  Students illustrated a novel that they read and included a quote from the story to encourage others to read the book. This display of artwork by our Sierra Vista Students will be at this public library until December 12th.

Yearbook Photos - It is that time of year where we are accepting photo additions to our yearbook. If you would like to see your students' baby photo or sporting/extra-curricular activities in the yearbook, please click the links for information. Also, if you would like to have a special message printed in the yearbook for your student, Personal Displays of Affection (PDA) are now on sale. Please view the link for the flyer for submission information. ALL photos are due by January 16th, 2015. No late photos will be accepted! Thank you for your contribution and support of our 2015 yearbook!

Community Service Opportunity - Does your child need community service hours for Honor Society or other obligations?  Is it time to clean out your shoe closets and get rid of those shoes that no longer fit?  Students can earn community service hours by donating gently USED shoes.  Please bring shoes to Ms. Kontis' room, 626, and she will give community service hours for your donation, five pair minimum required.  Any type of gently used shoes will do.  These shoes will be donated to help the homeless, and you will be helping your community.

Box Tops -  Be sure to send Box Tops with your student to turn in  every month to earn money for our school.  Your child will be entered in the monthly drawing. 

Consumer Electronics Recycling - The Math Department is again collecting used (working or not) consumer electronics for recycling. You can send your items to your child’s math teacher or take them to the office. The list of recyclables includes:

• Digital SLR Cameras & Lenses
• Point & Shoot Digital Cameras

• E-Book Readers (Kindle, Nook & more!)
• Range Finders & Sky Caddies
• Mobile Hotspots, MiFi and 4G USB Air Cards

• TI Graphing Calculators
WE CANNOT ACCEPT...cords, chargers, cases, earbuds, or anything NOT on this list. Please personally recycle these items.
