- Our Annual Magazine Drive is in full swing! On Tuesday, August 26th, your child should be bringing home information about the drive. Please support our school in our biggest fundraiser of the year! Click here for more details.
– Our first minimum day of this year is this coming Thursday, the 28th. Students are released at 11:35 A.M. Friday the 29th is a regular school day.
– If you like helping others, please come to our first meeting this Friday, August 29th from 2:20 until 3:00 in Room 617 and find out how. Our club does one positive thing for the city of Santa Clarita every month.
- Friday, August 29th is picture day! Students, remember to bring your envelopes to school!
– Don’t forget about auditions for Archie of the Amazon on Tuesday, August 26th in the MPR after school. Students can come and sign in 702 to get a number, or just show up at the MPR on Tuesday. We will rehearse after school from 2:20 – 3:30 two to three days a week until the end of October. Hope you can make it!
- September 2 is the beginning of After School Academy and registration forms are available now in the counseling office.
- Washington D.C. information and registration meeting on September 15 at 7 p.m in the MPR. Informational flyers will be handed out by all 8th grade history teachers. Contact Julie Velazquez if you have any questions.
– Did you order a SV Hookie during registration? Well, they are here! Please stop by Room 705 after school to pick up your SV Hoodie.
– Attention all 8th graders. If you received a 3.5 GPA in your academic classes at the end of the 3rd quarters last spring, you may qualify for Honor Society. Ten hours of community service are also required. If you are interested, please pick up an application at the library from Mrs. Fulleman.
– The library is now open for all library services and checkouts. Please turn in your textbook contract cards immediately. As you walk into the library, place the cards in the box on your right. Also, it’s not too late to pick up an application to work at the library. This is for 8th graders only. Work applications are due this Wednesday by 2:30 P.M.
- "Parenting/ Understanding the Teen Brain" is the focus of the 8th
Annual Teen Scene Unplugged on September 24th, 6-9 pm, at the Hyatt.
This promises to be another dynamic and information-filled program for
parents and those who work with teens! Click here for details.
– Students are not allowed to use cell phones in the any of the buildings. Student phones will be taken away if used inappropriately. Phones may be used before school, brunch, lunch and after school and out side of all buildings.
