ABOUT CJSF:
Sierra Vista Jr. High School is a member of the California Junior Scholarship
Federation, Chapter #257jsc. This
state-wide honor society was founded in 1967. It is a subgroup of CSF, the
high school honor society founded in 1921 by a school administrator, Mr. Charles
F. Seymour.
The purpose of the society is to provide those
students who excel academically an opportunity to perform school and
community services,
and to participate in worthwhile activities. Students,
who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or above in their four academic classes, are eligible to join CJSF each semester.
Membership in the Sierra Vista Honor Society is held in high
esteem, and our staff encourages all eligible students to join.
Students must apply for CJSF Honor Society each
semester. Students in 7th grade are
eligible to apply starting with the spring semester of 7th grade.
Each semester, members elect
officers who help with various functions, including the installation ceremonies.
Honor Society members also have the opportunity to take field trips during
the year.
