 WELCOME TO YOUR LIBRARY

Mission Statement - Your Sierra Vista Library; Making Multimedia Resources Accessible to Serve the Staff and Students, Enabling them to Become Effective Users of Ideas and Information

LIBRARY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Library and Textbook Returns for the Year
Monday, May 21st is the last day the library will be open. All library books are due this day. Textbooks will be collected on May 24th for 8th graders and May 25th for 7th graders through the English classes. Students should bring their textbooks in a bag with their name on it, to their English teacher on the morning of their turn-in date. Students not returning materials in on time will lose privileges such as end of the year activities, receiving their yearbook, and will continue to be on the indebted list at SV or at their next school.

Summer Reading

The English department and the library staff would like to encourage all of our returning and incoming students to read over the summer. Students should read at least one SRC book of their choice that is 6 points or higher. Students will then have a head-start on their first SRC quiz in August. The list of available quizzes from Scholastic are at the link on the right side of this Web page.

Applications for Student Library Workers for Fall 2012
There are still openings if you'd like to join our student crew of paid workers or be in the library elective. Stop by the library for more information.

No ticket required, but arrive early as space is limited. 8th graders who attend will receive a special treat at their Ellis Island simulation day.

Here are photos from our latest Brown Bag Presentation on March 9th. "Pauline Cushman - Civil War Spy " was portrayed by Louise Willard.
