8th Grade Math Classes 
Eighth graders take one of the following courses:
  • Math 8 reviews standards from 7th grade and continues to work students toward 8th grade California Content Standards.  Students who earn A's and B's will go on to Algebra in the 9th grade.  All others will go into Essentials for Algebra.

  • Algebra Readiness is a course that prepares students to complete Algebra in 9th grade.  Successful students will go on to Algebra in the 9th grade.  All others will go into Essentials for Algebra.

  • Algebra 8 is the first half of a two-year Algebra course. Students who are successful will continue into Algebra B in 9th grade.

  • Algebra BC is the second half of the Algebra 1 started in 7th grade. Successful students continue into Geometry in 9th grade.

  • Geometry 1AB is a full year Geometry course. Students who are successful will continue into Honors Algebra II Trig.
