The William S. Hart Union High School District, in partnership with the City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley Disaster Coalition, has established a fund to support the ongoing needs of the students, staff, and families of Saugus High School as a result of this week’s tragic events.
Donors can be assured that Saugus High School, the William S. Hart Union High School District, and the City of Santa Clarita have endorsed the Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition* to accept donations on our behalf of the school.
In order to mitigate the impact on the staff at Saugus High School as they progress through the healing process from last week’s tragedy, the District requests that all monetary donations be submitted via the Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition’s website.
Over the weeks and months ahead, the families of the victims of last week may establish funds directly to meet their needs. The District and City of Santa Clarita will work with those families to assist in posting verified sites to the Saugusstrong.org website.
The school has also requested that in lieu of letter of support that banners with encouraging and supportive messages be forwarded to the school. These positive messages will be placed around the campus to provide positive messages to the Saugus High School community over the weeks and months ahead.
Those individuals, businesses, and agencies wishing to make donations of physical product are requested to contact the following email address to reduce the burden on school staff.
* The Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Santa Clarita California. The Coalition is an all-volunteer alliance of caring community leaders from the private and public sectors, including representatives from local government, businesses, faith-based organizations, schools, and nonprofits.
Please note: The District has not endorsed any commercial enterprise engaging in the sale of retail items. Individuals representing themselves as having such an endorsement should be regarded with caution.
Respectfully and gratefully,
