COVID-19 Dashboard
The William S. Hart Union High School District provides ongoing information to our community regarding COVID-19 cases while maintaining confidentiality for our students and staff. The COVID-19 case data below is updated regularly to indicate any currently confirmed COVID-19 positive case in staff members or students by school site. The data below is specific to individuals who have been physically present on a District campus within 14 days of receiving a positive COVID-19 test. The District, in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, conducts contact tracing and directly notifies and provides resources for parents of students identified as close contacts (shared the same indoor airspace with someone with COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period while they were infectious).
Communication Process in the Event of Positive COVID-19 Cases
In the event there is a positive case identified, parents of affected students will be contacted directly via email. Students or staff members who are considered close contacts will receive a letter that will include instructions for close contacts and other important resources. The most recent California Department of Public Health definition of a "close contact" is defined as someone sharing the same indoor airspace for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period during an infected person's (laboratory-confirmed or clinical diagnosis) infectious period. Families of students who are not affected will not receive a notification letter and no action will be required. If you receive multiple close contact notifications, please refer to the most recent date of exposure for the appropriate timeline to follow.
As a reminder, if your child has tested positive for COVID-19 or they are having symptoms, please keep your child home (isolation instructions for people with COVID-19) and contact your school's health assistant as soon as possible. By reporting this information, you help keep our school community healthy and safe and prevent further spread of COVID-19. WSHUHSD will maintain confidentiality and protect student privacy, following all FERPA protocols.
