Saugus High Open House Auction: From Tuesday, March 4th to Tuesday, March 18th, Saugus High will be hosting an Open House Auction, featuring items and gift baskets from many generous community business leaders as well as supportive Saugus parents, students, and faculty members. We have over 100 items that will be up for bid and our hope is to raise more than $12,000 for our school and the Centurion Fund during this event. Online bidding has started! COC Prospective Student Workshop: Attention all seniors attending COC after graduation! COC will be doing a workshop for all seniors titled "Becoming a COC Student" on Thursday, March 6th during 6th period in the S Lecture Hall. Please sign up in the counseling office to reserve a seat.
ROP Cosmetology Info Meeting: For anyone Interested in enrolling in the R.O.P. Cosmetology Program, please come to an informational meeting on Thursday, March 6th at Lunchtime in Room B207. You are welcome to bring your lunch. It should take only 20 minutes but will be filled with valuable information! All grades are welcome.
Students Matter Movie Night: The Students Matter free movie night has been rescheduled to Friday, March 7th from 6 to 8:30 PM in the MPR and will be featuring the movie "To Save A Life." This is a non-fiction movie that covers bullying, suicide, drinking, teenage sex, and abortion. Popcorn will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own drinks. Bring a friend.
Graduation Speaker Applications: Applications for seniors to audition to speak or sing at the 2014 graduation ceremonies are now available in the Assistant Principals Office. Please pick one up, complete it, and return it to the Assistant Principal's Office no later than 3 PM on Monday, March 10th.
Lazy Dog Cafe Science Fundraiser: Mark your calendars! The science department will be holding a fundraiser at Lazy Dog Cafe all day on Wednesday, March 12th. Please support the science department by enjoying a "lazy dog" afternoon or evening meal at the place to be in town. 15% of your total bill be donated to fund lab supplies and equipment! REACH: As you register for classes for next year, consider adding REACH (Reaching Excellence At College Heights) to your schedule. REACH will replace AVID as a college preparatory program for students with a 2.5-3.5 GPA and a strong desire to attend a 4-year college or university. REACH will offer study and test taking skills along with college and career preparation.
New Student E-mails: In September, the Hart District I.T. Department announced that Hart District student accounts on GAFE (Google Apps for Education) were ready for use. The old e-mail system (@hart.k12.ca.us) will be phased out at the end of the 2013-14 school year. Please forward any important e-mails to the new Google account soon! Students can now set up their account via any Google login page (e.g., gmail.com, drive.google.com) by entering <student_id>@my.hartdistrict.org as their username and their password as flmmddyy (first letter of first name, first letter of last name, 6-digit birthdate). It will then immediately prompt users to reset their passwords. Please log in by the end of this school year!
Energy Saving at Saugus: In 2012, several solar panels were installed in Saugus High's parking lot. They have been collecting and providing Saugus with large amounts of renewable energy that help both the campus and the environment around it.
