RoadtripNation.org  is bringing their curriculum, The Roadtrip Nation Experience, to Bowman High School this February. The program kicks off with an amazing event that starts the second the big Green RV rolls onto the Bowman campus on Friday, February 5, 2010. The event will feature an introduction from the founders of Roadtrip Nation - Mike Marriner, Nathan Gebhard, and Brian McAllister - and a chance for Bowman students to meet and hear stories from Roadtrippers, Mariana Iglesias and Ray Ricafort, featured on the public television series, Roadtrip Nation.

The William S. Hart Union High School District is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in filling vacancies on its Measure V Citizens Oversight Committee. The committee reviews use of funds from the local school construction bond passed by voters in 2001 and reports to the public on whether the funds are spent as required by law.

When the Pasadena Tournament of Roses begins its march down Colorado Boulevard on New Year's Day, at least seven local high school musicians will be part of the Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band. The seven are among 200-plus students who earned their Honor Band spots by auditioning along with more than 600 Southern California high school musicians.

More than 400 people (462 to be exact) received a holiday dinner sponsored by Hart High School's Associated Student Body for homeless students from the school and needy families from the nearby area. The dinner of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls and of course dessert, was donated and prepared by students, parents and community volunteers.
