Graduation Requirements

In order to earn a diploma from the William S. Hart Union High School District, students must have completed the following in grades 9 through 12.

Total credits required for graduation is 230.
 
For the class of 2023 the required electives has been lowered by 10 credits, giving a graduation requirements a total of 220.
 
  • ENGLISH – 40 credits
  • SOCIAL STUDIES – 30 credits
    • Modern Civilization – 10 credits
    • U.S. History and Geography – 10 credits
    • U.S. Government and Economics – 10 credits
  • SCIENCE – 20 credits – (one year Physical and one year Biological)
  • MATH
    • 30 credits – Includes completion of a course in algebra 
  • HEALTH – 2.5 credits total
  • FINE ARTS / FOREIGN LANGUAGE
    • Fine Arts – 10 credits OR
    • Fine Arts – 5 credits AND Foreign Language – 10 credits
  • PRACTICAL ARTS – 5 credits – Choose from Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Business Education or Regional Occupational Program (ROP) courses.
  • PHYSICAL EDUCATION – 20 credits – Students are required to complete 20 credits in grades 9 and 10
