District Vehicles (Motor Pool) and District Driver's Clearance

The Hart District maintains a fleet of vehicles to conduct support services for schools and the offices at the Administrative Center. The Transportation Department is responsible for ensuring that all Hart District permanent employees who intend to drive District vehicles obtain driver's clearance and adhere to all federal, state, and local laws related to vehicle use.

District vehicles may only be used for work-related purposes and school-sponsored trips, activities, or events.

District employees operating District vehicles must physically possess a valid California driver's license and are prohibited from driving if their license has expired, been suspended, or revoked. Approval from their administrator or designee is required before utilizing a pool vehicle.

To obtain clearance for driving a District vehicle, please complete the following forms and submit them via email to [email protected] in the Transportation Department:
Include the following in your application packet:
  1. A photocopy of your current valid CA driver's license (CDL)
  2. A photocopy of your auto insurance if you intend to transport students in your personal vehicle to school-sponsored trips, activities, or events.
