The annual Hart Games return to Valencia High School on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Opening ceremonies begin right at 10:00 and we promise you’ll want to be there for that moment.
Approximately 350 special education students from 11 schools will step onto the track to compete in our districtwide Special Education track and field meet. The event is sponsored and lovingly organized by the Hart District’s Adapted Physical Education Department, and for many of these students, it is the highlight of their year.
The Hart Games aren’t just a field day. They’re the culmination of months of preparation during a track and field unit in physical education. Students practice running, throwing, jumping, and cheering each other on. What makes the Hart Games so special is that, for a few beautiful hours, the stadium belongs entirely to these students. They are the center of attention in an arena typically reserved for the fastest, the strongest, the most naturally athletic. On this day, the spotlight shines on perseverance, courage, teamwork, and heart.
Many of our athletes face significant challenges just to participate. Some navigate mobility differences. Others push through sensory, communication, or medical needs that most of us never see. Getting to that starting line is, in itself, an accomplishment. Crossing the finish line is a triumph.
If you’ve never attended the Hart Games, we encourage you to come. Bring your children. Bring your parents. Bring your neighbors. Stand in the bleachers. Cheer loudly. Watch the opening ceremonies. Stay long enough to see the joy ripple through the crowd. We guarantee it will bring a smile to your face.
We hope you’ll join us on March 16 to celebrate these incredible athletes and the spirit of our community.
