Santa Clarita, CA – The Hart District is proud to announce that 16 exceptional students have earned the California State Seal of Civic Engagement (SSCE) this year. This prestigious recognition, established by the California State Board of Education, honors students who have demonstrated a deep commitment to democracy through civic knowledge, skills, and real-world action.
The SSCE was established by the California State Board of Education to recognize students who demonstrate excellence in civics and a functional understanding of the U.S. and California Constitutions. To earn the seal, students must complete rigorous requirements, including informed civic engagement projects that address real-world community issues. The program aims to foster the knowledge and character traits necessary for students to become active contributors to their communities.
The district is honored to recognize the following 16 students who have gone above and beyond to earn this distinction on their diplomas. Their projects ranged from raising educational and career awareness, to addressing community needs such as housing and food insecurity, advocating for policy changes, and providing support for vulnerable populations.
