Incoming 7th Grade Students
Matriculation for the 2026-2027 school year only.
Welcome to the Hart District
The William S. Hart Union High School District works collaboratively with our local elementary school districts to ensure a smooth transition for your child from 6th grade to 7th grade. To simplify the matriculation process from elementary school to junior high school, to the extent possible, entire student populations from each elementary school will move to the same junior high schools. Information regarding registration, junior high school orientation, and events for incoming 7th grade students will be sent to you by your child's junior high school in mid to late spring (March through May).
What school will my child attend in 7th grade?
All general education students, students with specific learning disabilities, and resource students currently enrolled at the listed elementary schools will automatically rollover to the junior high listed at the top of each column provided that you reside within the Santa Clarita Valley. No action or transfer paperwork is required.
What if we reside in the attendance boundary for a school which is different than the one listed above?
All general education students, students with specific learning disabilities, and resource students always have the option to attend their school of residence based on their local address within the Santa Clarita Valley. To notify your school of residence regarding your child's enrollment, simply click on the name below to send an email or use the contact number to reach the registrar by phone.
To determine your child's junior high school, please utilize our school site locator to the right.
What if my child is in Special Education?
The William S. Hart Union High School District offers the following regionalized programs:
- Special Day Class - Functional Academics
- Special Day Class - Students with Emotional and Behavioral Needs
- Special Day Class - Living Skills
- Special Day Class - Autism High Functioning
Your child's elementary school will work with the William S. Hart Union High School District to schedule a matriculation IEP meeting in the spring. For students who require the support of a regionalized program, your student's school placement will be determined at the time of the matriculation IEP and the appropriate paperwork will be completed at that time.
For students who qualify for Special Day Class Core Curriculum or our Resource Program, all comprehensive Hart District campuses offer these programs and requests for transfers are limited to our pre-established criteria.
