Welcome to the Sequoia Program

The Sequoia Program is a specialized educational setting within the William S. Hart Union High School District that serves students in grades 7–12 who benefit from a more individualized, relationship-based approach to learning. Our students may have experienced barriers in traditional school environments, and Sequoia offers a fresh opportunity to re-engage in education within a setting designed for connection, growth, and healing.

We integrate academic instruction, mental health services, and individualized behavioral supports within a trauma-informed and therapeutic framework. With a low student-to-staff ratio, strong relationships, and access to Educationally Related Intensive Counseling Services (ERICS), students receive the targeted support they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Each student has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) that outlines the need for this more intensive level of service. Our focus is on helping students strengthen academic skills, develop emotional regulation, and build positive self-management strategies. When appropriate, we support students in transitioning back to their home school or a less restrictive setting.

At Sequoia, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful space where every student is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed.
