Hart District Announces New Principal and Assistant Principal

Santa Clarita, CA – The Hart District is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Necessary as the new principal at Arroyo Seco Junior High School and Christopher Printz as a new assistant principal at Golden Valley High School.

Necessary brings a wealth of experience and a strong background in education to the role, with a focus on leadership and student success. Necessary’s past professional experience includes serving as an assistant principal at Golden Valley High School from 2018 to the present, as well as at Hart High School from 2013 to 2018, and West Ranch High School from 2007 to 2013.

Necessary holds a Master of Arts and an Administrative Services Credential from California State University, Northridge, both earned in 2006. He also earned a Master of Education and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2000. Necessary’s educational background also includes a Bachelor of Science with Research Honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1996.

“We are excited to introduce Brian Necessary as the principal of Arroyo Seco Junior High School,” said Superintendent Michael Vierra. “With his extensive administrative experience gained from his previous leadership opportunities and his unwavering commitment to students and the community, we are confident that he will make a positive impact supporting students, staff, and parents in his new role as principal at Arroyo Seco.”

Printz began his career in education as a social studies teacher in Newbury Park in 1999 before moving to Loyola High School for a year and then landing as an opening staff member at the brand-new Golden Valley High School in 2004. In addition to teaching and leading in the Advanced Placement program there, Chris also served as head boys basketball coach, athletic director, and administrative intern at the school, as well as serving as summer school intern for the Hart District for multiple years.

Mr. Printz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from California Lutheran University, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Concordia University Irvine.
