The William S. Hart Union High School District will be offering summer school. This program is different from others, as it will be taught by Hart District teachers, and course offerings may vary. SUMMER 2026 PROGRAMS, DATES, LOCATIONS, & DESCRIPTORS
- Newcomer Summer Program June 8 - July 2, 2026 - Offered at Placerita Junior High School
Specially trained teachers provide in-person high school courses for Newcomers who need to meet graduation
requirements. This program is offered for entering 9th through 12th-grade students.
School holidays June 19 - No School
- JH Math Summer Camp Experience June 15 - July 2, 2026 - Offered at Placerita Junior High School
Specially trained teachers provide in-person math instruction through hands-on, relevant, engaging activities.
This program is offered for entering 7th-grade students from the Newhall Elementary District.
School holidays June 19 & June 26 - No School
- Traditional Summer School Program July 6 - July 31, 2026- Offered at Canyon, Hart, and Saugus High Schools
Hart District teachers provide instruction to entering 10th- to 12th-grade students who need credit recovery or
want an opportunity to take an approved district course early to get ahead. While most classes are held in-
person, this summer program offers some ONLINE options for students.
Canyon High School hosts Summer Commencement Ceremony & classes for Graduating Seniors - July 31
- Junior High Prep Math July 6 - July 31, 2026 - Offered at Canyon, Hart, and Saugus High Schools
Hart District teachers provide in-person instruction to entering 7th-grade students through two class options, with
invitations based on spring math placement scores, and invites sent through their elementary school 6th grade
teachers:
- Math 7 Prep helps prepare students with the foundational skills needed for junior high math.
- Bridge to Accelerated 7 for students who did not score high enough to be placed in Accelerated 7 Math and want a chance to build math skills and then take a retest to be placed in advanced Math in 7th grade.
Students in either of these math classes will be invited to take Intro to Computer or Science Project as part of
their two-period summer school experience.
Hart District teachers provided in-person instruction to entering 7th- to 9th-grade students to support math
and literacy skills. Enrollment is recommended by the student's casemanager.
- Extended School Year (ESY) June 15 - July 14, 2026 - Offered at Valencia High School
Hart District teachers provide in-person instruction to students in the district's regionalized program.
